Education & EdTech

LMS platforms, course delivery tools, and learning systems. Digital transformation for educational institutions.

About this industry

An education platform has to work for three groups at once: learners, instructors and administrators. We build LMS systems, online course platforms and corporate training tools where enrolment, payments, video content, tests and certificates form one coherent process rather than a collection of loosely connected plugins.

Off-the-shelf LMS products handle standard scenarios well. A custom LMS platform makes sense when your business model needs its own learning paths, subscriptions, HR or CRM integration, or when the platform itself is the product you sell. We add progress analytics and AI features, such as an assistant that answers learners' questions based on the course materials.

Education calls for extra care with data and accessibility. Platforms often process data about minors and serve people with very different needs. We collect only the data that is genuinely needed, set up clear roles and permissions, and build interfaces that meet WCAG. Where AI grades work or affects access to learning, we take the AI Act requirements into account.

Compliance and security

GDPR

Education platforms hold results, activity data and contact details, often belonging to children. We limit data collection to what is necessary, add parental consent where required, separate roles for instructors and administrators, retention rules for results and EU hosting.

Digital accessibility (WCAG, EAA)

Public schools and universities in the EU must meet web accessibility rules based on WCAG, and selling online courses or e-books may bring a product under the EAA. We deliver video captions, keyboard navigation, adequate contrast and testing with screen readers.

AI Act

AI used for admissions, assessing learning outcomes or monitoring students during exams is classed as high-risk, which brings duties such as risk management, human oversight and documentation. We build AI assistants that are clearly labelled and whose answers instructors can review.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom LMS cost?

A platform with video courses, quizzes, payments and certificates is usually a project within EUR 8,000 - 28,000. Larger multi-organisation systems with HR integrations and a mobile app need a budget closer to a SaaS product, as described in our guide to SaaS development cost. We usually start with an MVP to validate the model quickly.

Off-the-shelf LMS or a custom platform?

An off-the-shelf LMS such as Moodle is enough when you need standard courses and do not plan heavy customisation. A custom platform pays off when education is your product, or when you need your own sales model, unusual learning paths or integration with internal systems. We always check first whether extending an existing tool would do the job.

How can AI be used on an education platform?

The safest starting point is an assistant that answers learner questions from course materials using a RAG knowledge base, plus tools that help authors draft quizzes. Using AI to grade students calls for more caution: human oversight, clear rules and meeting the AI Act requirements that apply to high-risk systems.

Can one platform serve many corporate clients?

Yes, if it is designed as a multi-tenant system from the start. Each organisation gets its own space, users, branding and reports, with data kept separate. We add single sign-on, employee import from HR systems and per-licence billing. This architecture should be decided early, because changing it later is expensive and disruptive.
