E-commerce & Retail
Marketplaces, omnichannel platforms, and order management. Stores on Sylius, Sulu, and custom solutions.
About this industry
An online store makes money on conversion rate, average order value and repeat customers. We build e-commerce platforms where page speed, a smooth checkout and accurate product search are treated as business features rather than nice-to-haves. We work with Sylius, Sulu CMS and Laravel-based solutions, choosing the stack to fit your scale and sales model.
Behind the storefront sits the back office: ERP, WMS, couriers, payment gateways, marketplaces and marketing tools. We integrate them so that stock levels, prices and order statuses stay in sync without manual work. Order automation and AI product recommendations are usually the first places to look for time savings and extra revenue.
E-commerce is also one of the most regulated areas of consumer-facing business. The Omnibus Directive changed how discounts and reviews must be presented, the European Accessibility Act brought online stores under accessibility rules, and in Poland KSeF is changing how invoices flow. We build these requirements into the design instead of patching them in after launch.

When advertising a price reduction, stores must show the lowest price from the 30 days before it, and stores publishing reviews must say whether and how they verify them. We implement price history, promotion labels, the 14-day withdrawal process and seller information on marketplaces.
European Accessibility Act (EAA)
National laws implementing the EAA brought online stores under accessibility requirements, with an exemption for microenterprises. We design and test the whole purchase path to WCAG: keyboard navigation, contrast, text alternatives for images and forms that work properly with screen readers.
KSeF (Polish e-invoicing)
KSeF, Poland's National e-Invoicing System, changes how structured B2B invoices are issued and received, with the obligation being phased in. We connect your store and ERP to KSeF directly or through your accounting software, so invoices are generated automatically from orders.
GDPR and cookie consent
Profiling, recommendations and remarketing need a legal basis and often explicit consent. We implement a consent banner wired into your analytics tools, separate marketing consents, customer data retention rules and payments through gateways that keep card data off your store entirely.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a custom online store cost?
A store built on a proven engine with a bespoke design and core integrations usually falls within EUR 8,000 - 28,000. A B2B platform with customer-specific price lists, ERP integration and multiple warehouses is more often EUR 28,000 - 95,000+. Our article on web application cost breaks down the factors that move the budget up or down.
Sylius, Shopify or a custom system?
Shopify suits standard B2C selling and small teams. Sylius gives you full control of the code and copes well with non-standard processes such as B2B, product configurators or many sales channels. A fully custom system makes sense when the store is one part of a larger platform. We base the recommendation on your processes, scale and running costs.
Where does AI actually help an online store?
Mostly in three places: product recommendations, customer service and catalogue work. An AI chatbot answers questions about stock, delivery and returns using your store data rather than the model's general knowledge. AI also helps write and clean up product descriptions, although it is worth having a person approve content before it goes live.
How long does it take to launch a store?
A store on an established engine with a custom design and a handful of integrations usually takes a few months. Projects take longer when they involve migrating data from an old platform, ERP integration or bespoke B2B processes. We split the timeline into stages so the store can start selling earlier, with further features added in later releases.
