Logistics & Transportation
Machine learning route optimization, real-time fleet monitoring, and integrations with TMS and WMS systems.
About this industry
In logistics, margin comes from details: a shorter route, a fuller load, fewer empty runs and faster order settlement. We build systems for carriers, freight forwarders, courier companies and warehouses that bring planning, fleet tracking and documents together into a single view of operations.
A typical project covers AI route optimisation, integration with TMS, WMS, telematics and customer systems, and a portal where shippers check status and ETA without calling the dispatcher. When an ageing system holds the business back, we carry out a step-by-step modernisation without stopping day-to-day operations.
More and more requirements are regulatory. GPS and telematics data relates to drivers, so it falls under GDPR and employee monitoring rules. Some transport and courier companies may be in scope of NIS2, B2B invoices in Poland are moving to KSeF, and the EU is developing electronic freight transport information exchange under the eFTI Regulation.
How we deliver
Operations Analysis
Mapping routes, fleet, volumes, time windows, and key efficiency metrics.
Model Building
ML models trained on route data, delivery times, and seasonality.
TMS Integration
Connecting TMS, WMS, fleet telematics, and order management systems.
Continuous Optimization
KPI monitoring and model adaptation to changes in the distribution network.
Key challenges
Route Planning
Algorithms accounting for distance, cost, priorities, and vehicle constraints.
Fleet Monitoring
Vehicle positions on a map with alerts for delays and route deviations.
Traffic Data
Dynamic route replanning around congestion, accidents, and road closures.
Fleet Utilization
Load optimization and order allocation that cuts down on empty runs.
Customer Communication
Precise ETAs and automatic delivery status notifications.
Operating Costs
Lower fuel use and mileage through shorter, better-planned routes.
Compliance and security
GDPR and fleet monitoring
A vehicle's location is often a driver's personal data. Fleet monitoring needs a defined purpose, scope and employee notice under GDPR and Polish labour law. We implement access roles, retention rules for telematics data and separation of business and private use.
NIS2
The directive covers selected transport entities as well as postal and courier services. Companies in scope must manage cybersecurity risk, including across their supply chain. We deliver secure architecture, monitoring, backups, incident handling procedures and audit documentation.
KSeF (Polish e-invoicing)
KSeF covers B2B invoicing in Poland, with the obligation being phased in. We connect your TMS or order system to KSeF directly or via accounting software, automating invoices for completed orders and the handling of subcontractor invoices.
eFTI
The eFTI Regulation sets up a framework in which EU authorities accept freight transport information in electronic form, with application being rolled out gradually. We design transport document workflows so they can connect to certified eFTI platforms without rebuilding the system.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a transport or fleet management system cost?
A route planning module with a fleet map and a customer status portal usually falls within EUR 14,000 - 47,000. A full system with TMS functions, settlements, KSeF integration and a driver app may need a budget of EUR 47,000 - 140,000+. Extending an existing TMS often pays off better than building from scratch, so we start with an audit.
Will route optimisation work with our current TMS?
Usually, yes. The optimisation module pulls orders, time windows and fleet data from your TMS or ERP via API, calculates the plan and sends it back to the system and the driver app. It accounts for capacity, driving time, traffic and customer priorities, and dispatchers can adjust the plan manually before sending it.
How quickly can we see the first results?
We start with the process that costs you most, such as route planning in one depot or a status portal for customers. That first stage usually takes a few months and lets you measure the effect on real data. Further depots and modules are added only once the solution has proven itself in daily operations.
Do drivers need a separate mobile app?
Usually, yes, because an app simplifies order handover, proof of delivery with photo and signature, and reporting problems on the road. We build it in Flutter or React Native with offline mode for areas without coverage. If your fleet already uses telematics terminals, we can integrate with them instead of adding new devices.
